GC Construct Ltd was appointed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich to carry out replacement and improvement works to the boardwalk and viewing platform at Sutcliffe Park, a key public open space used by the local community. The project focused on improving safety, accessibility and durability, while enhancing the overall visitor experience and protecting the surrounding natural environment.

The works involved the removal of the existing boardwalk and the installation of a new high-quality replacement constructed using FSC-certified composite timber decking with anti-slip properties. Additional improvements were carried out to the viewing platform, including new balustrades and refurbishment of concrete seating, providing a safer and more functional public space.

The project was delivered through proactive site management and close liaison with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the Environment Agency, ensuring compliance with environmental and statutory requirements throughout the programme. Sustainability was a key consideration, with all removed timber fully recycled to minimise waste to landfill.
